I will be sharing a new stress relieving pose each week through the end of this month. This week we will be doing the Cat-Cow Pose.

This pose allows you to connect your breath to your movements as you calm your mind and release stress. Allow your breath to guide each movement.

Cat-Cow Pose

  1. Gently get down on the floor in a tabletop pose (prone on hands and knees)
  2. Position wrists under shoulders and knees under hips
  3. Inhale and move chin upward toward the ceiling and arch back (Cow Pose)
  4. Exhale and bring chin toward your chest and bend spine up toward the ceiling (Cat Pose)
  5. Flow between Cow and Cat pose following your breath, breathing in slowly through your nose (during Cow) and slowly out through your mouth (during Cat) for about a minute
  6. When finished you can slowly change to a sitting position and continue your deep breathing for as long as you wish
