Loosen Up, It’s Thursday!

Deep Breathing and Tension Releasing Exercise

Today I am going to take you through a guided breathing and tension releasing exercise. Deep breathing is probably one of the easiest and quickest ways to relax! By taking just one deep breath in you are increasing your oxygen intake which promotes a calming effect, decreases stress and lowers blood pressure. How easy is that? What’s even better is you can do it just about anywhere, anytime!

Tips

  • Place your hand on your stomach as you breathe in. If you see it rising you know you are breathing deep enough. If not, breathe in deeper!
  • Hold your breath for a second or two before exhaling.
  • Inhale and exhale nice and slow, but not forcefully.
  • Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Relax and let your tension melt away!

After a few deep breaths in and out I will guide you through a tension releasing exercise from head to toe. Get comfortable, close your eyes and let your stress and tension melt away!

I encourage you to try deep breathing on your own as well. Whenever you are feeling stressed, anxious or tired take a few deep breaths and see what a difference it can make!
